Market Overview

On April 22nd, the mainstream market price of graphitized petroleum coke (gpc) carburant in China remained stable at 4100 yuan/ton, unchanged from the previous working day. Raw material prices saw no significant changes. While downstream steel mills showed increased production enthusiasm, demand has not yet seen a noticeable boost. With sufficient market supply and stable trading, the price of carburants remains steady. The mainstream prices for domestically produced graphitized petroleum coke carburants (C≥98%, S≤0.05%, particle size: 1-5mm) range from 4000 to 4200 yuan/ton, while semi-graphitized petroleum coke carburants (C≥98%, S≤0.3%, particle size: 1-5mm) range from 3500 to 3700 yuan/ton. 

Downstream Market

Graphitized petroleum coke carburant enterprises are operating normally, with some increasing production due to increased demand. Some screening companies are producing on demand, ensuring sufficient market supply.

Upstream Market

Calcined Petroleum Coke: The mainstream price of high-sulfur calcined coke remains stable. Some companies have increased daily production, affecting production by approximately 800 ton/day. As the month-end approaches, companies are mainly holding steady prices, with a strong stance. Additionally, a company in Hebei Province is expected to resume production in mid-May.

Downstream Market

Steel Industry: With improving demand in downstream terminals, some steel mills have plans to resume blast furnace production. The operating rate of steel enterprises is gradually increasing, with more steel mills restarting production. Combined with recent profit expansion in steel mills, there is a lack of willingness to actively reduce production. Steel mills are maintaining normal production with enhanced production enthusiasm.

Market Forecast

There are minimal fluctuations in raw material prices, and it is anticipated that this trend will continue in the short term.
