【Anode】Total Investment of 4.1 Billion Yuan! Western China's Largest Anode Project Completed!
On December 10, the 100,000-ton anode material project by the Southern Company successfully passed the completion acceptance for its anode area construction and installation. The acceptance was jointly conducted by the Construction and Transportation Bureau of Lanzhou New Area, the Qin Chuan Park Urban and Rural Construction Bureau, the construction unit, surveying unit, design unit, supervision unit, and construction unit. The supply of negative electrode materials in the market has slightly increased, and the shipment of calcined petroleum coke screening market has improved.
After the acceptance group listened to detailed reports on the project overview, completion status, quality control documents, and self-assessment of the engineering completion, a comprehensive inspection was carried out according to the acceptance standards, including checking project documents, on-site visual quality, and physical quality. Following the evaluation, it was concluded that the project had complete construction procedures, had met all contractual requirements, and that the engineering quality met design and construction standards. The project was approved for completion.
Located in Lanzhou New Area, Gansu Province, the project includes the construction of a 50,000-ton/year anode material production line and a 100,000-ton/year graphitization facility in the first phase. The Southern Company's construction involved three factory buildings, three gatehouses, three metering rooms, ten individual units, and equipment installation, covering a planning area of approximately 57,000 square meters, with a total construction area of about 64,480 square meters. Once operational, the anode materials produced will be applied in fields such as new energy vehicles, 3C consumer electronics, and industrial energy storage. This project will fill the gap in Gansu's battery anode material industry and is of significant importance for accelerating the development of the new energy industry in Western China and promoting regional economic transformation.
Since construction began, the project team has made advanced preparations and collaborated on overcoming numerous challenges such as tight schedules, complex processes, large installation workloads, numerous types of pipelines, and concurrent construction tasks. By focusing on project timeline management, the team developed detailed weekly progress plans, tracked daily workloads, adjusted construction procedures in a timely manner, and improved on-site construction efficiency, ensuring the project was completed safely and efficiently. The project has received unanimous recognition from all participating units. During construction, strict management systems were enforced, construction procedures were standardized, and construction plans were optimized. The quality of the project was prioritized, along with safety measures. A green and civilized construction approach was adopted, incorporating environmental protection into the construction process. Strict environmental protection measures were implemented, staff training was enhanced, and eco-friendly technology was applied, ensuring progress aligned with environmental conservation. The project was awarded the 2022 Gansu Province Construction Engineering "Civilized Site" honor, setting a good corporate image.
Looking ahead, the project team will continue to uphold high standards and strict requirements to complete all remaining tasks and ensure early project delivery, production, and effectiveness, contributing to the development of the new energy industry with excellent project performance and supporting deep market cultivation.
According to earlier information, the project has a total investment of 4.1 billion yuan and occupies about 756 acres. The project is divided into two phases: one for the construction of 100,000 tons of anode materials and 100,000 tons of graphitization facilities, with the first phase consisting of 50,000 tons of anode materials and 100,000 tons of graphitization facilities. The second phase will involve the construction of an additional 50,000 tons of anode materials. Once fully completed, the project is expected to achieve an annual output value of 3.5 billion yuan, tax revenue of over 200 million yuan, and provide employment for more than 1,000 people. This project will significantly accelerate the development of the new energy industry in Western China and drive regional economic transformation.
