As of December 24, the market price for anode materials in China remains stable. The price for mid-range artificial graphite products is stable at 22,000 yuan/ton, while the price for mid-range natural graphite products is stable at 26,000 yuan/ton.

Production of anode materials is active, with a slight recovery in graphitization orders. Downstream battery manufacturers are ramping up production towards the end of the year, and overseas customers are stocking up in advance. Currently, the market trading atmosphere is positive, and negative electrode manufacturers have a strong sentiment to maintain prices. The market price of graphitized petroleum coke (gpc) is under strong upward pressure.

On the cost side, production of anode materials is stable, with overall operating rates at a medium to high level and relatively low inventory levels across companies. On the demand side, there is stockpiling ahead of the New Year, along with growth in the production and sales of new energy vehicles, resulting in numerous orders in the power and energy storage markets.

The competition in China's domestic anode materials market is fierce, with rising prices for low-sulfur petroleum coke. This has led to increased production costs for artificial graphite negative electrodes, resulting in lower production profits and narrowing profit margins for negative electrode manufacturers. As the year-end approaches, there is sufficient demand for anode materials, coupled with the need to replenish inventories. Currently, some leading negative electrode manufacturers are operating at full capacity or close to it. They are strongly inclined to maintain prices, while downstream customers, in order to secure purchases, are also more likely to pause any price reductions. It is expected that negative electrode prices will remain stable and steady in the near term.
