Recently, Lei Jun, founder and CEO of Xiaomi Group, visited the headquarters of CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited), where he was warmly welcomed by Zeng Yuqun, Chairman of CATL.

According to the video footage from the site, Lei Jun maintained his usual low-profile style during the visit, wearing a large coat, jeans, and black leather shoes—simple yet stylish. After a thorough discussion with the CATL team, Lei Jun left the meeting with a radiant expression and steady steps, with Zeng Yuqun following closely behind. This scene reflected the pleasant atmosphere of their conversation.

Before getting into his car, Lei Jun turned around to shake hands with Zeng Yuqun again. As Lei Jun drove away, he rolled down his car window and waved goodbye, his cheerful smile seeming to signal a promising future for their collaboration. This moment was captured by onlookers and quickly shared online, sparking widespread attention and discussion.

Many netizens speculated that Lei Jun's visit might be aimed at further integrating supply chain resources and strengthening cooperation between Xiaomi and CATL in areas such as battery technology and electric vehicles, to jointly tackle market challenges.

It is worth mentioning that Lei Jun's car for this visit was a Xiaomi SU7. The Xiaomi SU7 series has deep cooperation with CATL, with the Xiaomi SU7 Max version equipped with CATL's Kirin battery pack. Additionally, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra's outstanding performance on the Nürburgring track was also supported by CATL's battery technology. 

Needle coke is mainly used for lithium battery anodes and ultra-high-power graphite electrodes. In recent years, the demand for needle coke in artificial graphite anode production has increased significantly with the growth of domestic anode material capacity.

Note: Currently, the Xiaomi SU7 series models have deep cooperation with CATL, such as the Xiaomi SU7 Max version using CATL's Kirin battery pack. In April 2021, shortly after announcing Xiaomi's foray into the car industry, Lei Jun was reported to have visited CATL, and he and Zeng Yuqun have often been seen together at car shows and public events.

In 2024, Xiaomi's automotive division delivered a total of 135,000 vehicles, exceeding the annual target of 130,000, with a completion rate of 103.8%. Building on this success, Lei Jun announced on the last day of 2024 that the company aims to deliver 300,000 vehicles in 2025, a target growth rate of 122%.
