【Carburant】How Will the Market Play Out in Q4? Prices May See Strong Fluctuations!

China's carburant market remains stable for now. In calcined coal carburants, 90C general quality is priced at 1,825 RMB/ton, while high-quality 90C sits at a mainstream price of 1,945 RMB/ton. For 92C general quality, the price is 1,995 RMB/ton, with high-quality versions priced at 2,125 RMB/ton, all ex-factory and tax-inclusive.

As we enter Q4, coal mines are in the final stretch of annual production, leaving limited room for output increases. Rising raw material prices are driving up calcined coal carburant costs, with downstream buyers mostly taking a wait-and-see approach. This suggests that in the short term, calcined coal carburant prices may exhibit strong fluctuations.

In graphitized carburants, prices for products with C≥98.5%, S≤0.05%, and particle size of 1-5mm range from 3,400 to 3,500 RMB/ton (tax-inclusive). For semi-graphitized carburants with C≥98.5%, S≤0.3%, and particle size of 1-5mm, mainstream market prices are between 2,900 and 3,000 RMB/ton (tax-inclusive). In terms of raw materials, anode producers are producing based on sales, maintaining low inventory levels, and some subcontractors have already completed this year's production and are now beginning shutdowns for maintenance. As a result, raw material availability, as a by-product of anode production, may see reduced short-term supply for semi-graphitized carburant products.

In summary, the raw material supply for semi-graphitized carburants is relatively tight, leading to a supply-demand imbalance. Short-term demand shifts may play a more decisive role, likely causing prices to continue a narrow range of fluctuations. Raw materials are providing moderate support for graphitized carburant prices, which may continue to trend strongly.
