Cost pressure remains, short-term needle coke maintains an upward trend

On April 9, needle coke market was consolidated at a high level. Shandong petroleum coke market price was basically stable, individual refinery quotation rose slightly, ranging from 50-200 yuan/ton. Many local refineries in Shandong shut down for maintenance, petroleum coke market supply is tight, and downstream purchase intention is relatively positive, which has a certain support for petroleum coke market price. 1. China's needle coke market mainstream price:

Oil-series needle coke raw coke was 8500-10000 yuan/ton; Burning coke was 10500-13500 yuan/ton;

Coal-series needle coke raw coke was 8000-9500 yuan/ton; Burning coke was 10000-12500 yuan/ton;

2. Imported needle coke market mainstream price:

Oil-series needle coke raw coke was $1200-1500/ton; Burning coke was $2200-2400/ton;

Coal-series needle coke raw coke was $800/ton; Burning coke was $1600-1700/ton. 

Downstream aspect

On April 7, the European Commission (EC) announced that it would make a positive and final anti-dumping ruling on the graphite electrode system originating in China, and decided to impose an anti-dumping duty of 23.0% ~ 74.9% on the products involved from the day after the announcement. The dumping and injury investigation period of this case is from January 1, 2020 to December 30, 2020, and the injury investigation period is from January 1, 2017 to the end of the dumping and injury investigation period.
