In July 2022, iron ore imports increased by 3.1% YoY, steel exports increased by 17.7% YoY

According to the latest customs statistics, from January to July 2022, China's import of iron ore and its concentrate totaled 627.152 million tons, reaching 503.43 billion yuan. From January to July last year, the import volume decreased by about 3.5%. As an environmental friendly product, the demand for graphite electrode in the steel industry will continue to rise.

Steel trade aspect, the latest customs data show that from January to July 2022, China's steel total import volume was 6.56 million tons, with an import amount of 66.96 billion yuan, a decrease of about 21.9% year-on-year.

In July 2022, China's steel import volume was 789,000 tons, and the import amount was 9.13 billion yuan. In July 2021, the import volume was 1.049 million tons, and the import amount was 9.1 billion yuan. This year, the import volume decreased by about 24.8% year-on-year.

From January to July of 2022, China export steel volume was 40.143 million tons, with an export amount of 382.08 billion yuan, a decrease of about 6.8% year-on-year. 

In July 2022, China's steel export volume was 6.671 million tons, and the export amount was 72.25 billion yuan. In July 2021, the export volume was 5.669 million tons, and the export amount was 48.74 billion yuan.
