World Steel Association: Global crude steel output was 169.5 million tons in May

The output of the Middle East was 3.5 million tons, down 10.0%. The output of North America was 9.9 million tons, down 4.0%. The output of Russia and other CIS countries + Ukraine was 7.4 million tons, down 19.1%. The output of South America was 3.8 million tons, down 2.8%.

In May, 2022, crude steel output of China was 96.6 million tons, down 3.5% year-on-year. The output of India was 10.6 million tons, up 17.3%. The output of Japan was 8.1 million tons, down 4.2%. The output of US was 7.2 million tons, down 2.6%. The output of Russia as estimated was 6.4 million tons, down 1.4%. The output of South Korea was 5.8 million tons, down 1.4%. The output of Germany was 3.2 million tons, down 11.5%. The output of Turkey was 3.2 million tons, down 1.4%. The output of Brazil was 3 million tons, down 4.9%.
