This week, the capacity utilization rate and the average capacity utilization rate of independent EAFs in the country increased slightly. The main reason for the increase is the resumption of production in one EAF plant in the Jiangsu and Jiangxi regions of East China, as well as the resumption of production in several EAF plants that were under maintenance last week. Additionally, EAF plants in the South China region maintained normal production this week after resuming production last week. The spot prices continued to weaken this week, exacerbating losses for steel plants. Therefore, some steel plants reduced production time and implemented output cuts, resulting in only a slight increase in the data. One EAF plant in Guizhou region underwent maintenance this week, and all EAF plants in Guizhou are currently shut down with no definite plans for resumption.
Looking ahead to next week, two steel plants in the South China region have plans for maintenance shutdowns, but the timing is uncertain. Overall, it is expected that the capacity utilization rate and average capacity utilization rate of independent EAF plants may experience a slight decline next week.
