01. Petroleum-based Needle Coke

According to customs data statistics, in August 2023, China's imports of petroleum-based needle coke amounted to 24,500 tons, a year-on-year increase of 326.88% and a month-on-month increase of 147.69%, and the specifications of the Graphitized petroleum coke. From January to August 2023, China's total imports of petroleum-based needle coke reached 80,000 tons, showing a year-on-year increase of 3.99%. In August 2023, the main importing countries of petroleum-based needle coke to China were the United Kingdom and Japan, with import volumes of 6,800 tons and 800 tons, respectively. 

02. Coal-based Needle Coke

According to customs data, in August 2023, China's imports of coal-based needle coke amounted to 4,100 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.75% and a month-on-month increase of 10.41%. From January to August 2023, China's total imports of coal-based needle coke reached 52,300 tons, showing a year-on-year decrease of 6.61%.
