 II. This Week's (As of October 20) Blast Furnace and Electric Furnace Production

As of October 20, Mysteel surveyed 247 steel mills and found a blast furnace operating rate of 82.34%, an increase of 0.14 percentage points from the previous week, and a year-on-year increase of 0.29 percentage points. Blast furnace ironmaking capacity utilization was 90.62%, a decrease of 1.31 percentage points compared to the previous week but an increase of 2.36 percentage points year-on-year. As of October 19, Mysteel reported that the average cost of construction steel in 40 independent electric arc furnace steel mills was 3,894 CNY /ton, with an average profit of -133 CNY/ton and a valley profit of -36 CNY/ton. As of October 20, the average capacity utilization rate of 87 independent electric arc furnace steel mills nationwide was 50.64%, up 1.22 percentage points compared to the previous week and up 1.19 percentage points year-on-year.
