Needle Coke Import and Export Data Released

1. Graphite Electrodes

According to customs data, in April 2024, China's graphite electrode exports amounted to 28,200 tons, down 7.19% month-on-month and up 8.00% year-on-year. From January to April 2024, the total export volume of China's graphite electrodes reached 115,500 tons, an increase of 12.24% year-on-year. The main export destinations for Chinese graphite electrodes in April 2024 were Iran, Russia, and Malaysia.

2. Needle Coke

Petroleum-based Needle Coke

Customs data shows that in April 2024, China's imports of petroleum-based needle coke were 5,500 tons, a decrease of 31.13% year-on-year and 60.69% month-on-month. From January to April 2024, the total import volume of petroleum-based needle coke was 34,700 tons, an increase of 8.30% year-on-year. The main import countries for China's petroleum-based needle coke in April 2024 were the United Kingdom and Japan, with import volumes of 3,600 tons and 1,200 tons, respectively. In April 2024, China's exports of petroleum-based needle coke were approximately 1,100 tons.

Coal-based Needle Coke

According to customs data, in April 2024, China's imports of coal-based needle coke were 9,200 tons, an increase of 75.35% year-on-year and a decrease of 29.64% month-on-month. From January to April 2024, the total import volume of coal-based needle coke was 37,300 tons, an increase of 6.03% year-on-year.
