This week, the domestic graphite electrode price is weak as a whole. As of press time, UHP graphite electrode φ450 quoted 2200-21700 yuan/ton, with a decrease of 500 yuan/ton, φ600 quoted 24000-25200 yuan/ton, the weekly ring ratio decreases by 500-1000 yuan/ton, and the market transaction isn’t good enough.

Supply side, some parts of Shanxi Province have stopped production or limited production by 20-30%, and some parts of Hebei province have stopped production or limited production by more than 30%. Production restrictions in other regions are in progress, and it is expected to stop and limit production in succession this month.

Downstream side, there are 71 independent EAF steel plants in China, with an average operating rate of 48.55%, a month on month decrease of 5.02% and a year-on-year decrease of 18.64%. Among them, East China, Central China and Southwest China showed a slight downward trend. South China showed a significant downward trend, and other regions remained flat. The continuous decline of EAF plant operation has negative impact on the domestic UHP graphite electrode.

Raw materials side, the price of needle coke continues to consolidate at a high level, the trading of low sulfur petroleum coke is acceptable, the inventory is medium and low, and the price tends to be stable.
