【Needle Coke】Stable Prices, Weak Sentiment

Market Update: The needle coke market is experiencing stable prices with a limited number of orders being executed, resulting in some pressure on shipments. The mainstream prices for raw needle coke range from 5,200 to 6,000 yuan per ton, while the mainstream prices for calcined needle coke range from 8,000 to 9,800 yuan per ton. 

Supply Side: Many needle coke coal enterprises have either halted production or shifted to producing asphalt coke, with no fixed schedule for resuming operations. Additionally, a southern oil-based enterprise has undergone maintenance shutdown, while other oil-based enterprises continue to operate at low capacity.

Demand Side: There is no significant improvement in demand from the negative electrode industry. Electric furnace operations remain average, and the demand for needle coke in graphite electrodes remains low.

In the market for low- to medium-sulfur oil slurry, the mainstream prices range from 3,500 to 3,850 yuan per ton. The mainstream prices for medium- to low-sulfur oil slurry range from 3,550 to 3,800 yuan per ton. Modified coal asphalt is priced at around 4,400 to 4,700 yuan per ton, while medium-temperature coal asphalt is priced at approximately 4,500 to 4,600 yuan per ton. The mainstream price for mid-range artificial graphite is around 34,000 yuan per ton, and the market price for ultra-high-power 700mm graphite electrodes is around 26,000 yuan per ton.
