After the festival, petroleum coke, needle coke and graphite electrode market prices rose together

• The price of petroleum coke market increased on the first day after the festival. Daqing Petrochemical 1#A and Fushun Petrochemical 1# increased by 200 yuan/ton, up 4.55%, both reported at 4600 yuan/ton. Jinxi Petrochemical 1#B rose 400 yuan/ton, up 9.52%, to 4600 yuan/ton. 

• Needle coke market driven by the rising cost of raw materials, transaction prices compared with September generally increased 500-1000 yuan after the festival, the inventory situation in the production of enterprises are maintained low. In addition, the purchase orders of overseas electrode enterprises have also begun to increase recently. Considering the rising freight and other reasons, the current export price of needle coke is USD 1800-2000/ton.  

• The quotation of graphite electrode on the first day after the festival showed a slight upward trend, with an average increase of 500-1000 yuan/ton. The mainstream price of UHP450mm specification with 30% needle coke in the market is 18,500-19,000 yuan/ton, and the main price of UHP600mm specification is 22,000-24,000 yuan/ton. The price of UHP700mm is 28,000-30,000 yuan/ton.

During the festival, Shanxi and other places suffered heavy rainfall, which greatly affected the traffic in many places. However, the overall disaster degree is less than the rainfall in Henan in the early stage. It is understood that the production of local graphite electrode enterprises has not been affected, but the transportation is expected to be delayed for about a week. According to statistics, in September, under the dual control of energy consumption, 18 key graphite electrode manufacturers in China produced 47,800 tons of graphite electrodes, a decrease of 11.8% compared with the previous month, a decrease of 18.8% compared with the same period last year.
