Inside the workshop of Guizhou Kaijin New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., the "alchemy of turning graphite into gold" is being staged. Amid the roar of machines, workers are skillfully transporting finished products. As a high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D, production, and sales of lithium battery anode materials, the company's graphitized anode materials are widely used in new energy vehicle batteries, emergency batteries, energy storage batteries, and other fields. From January to August this year, the company achieved an output value of 2.379 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year growth of over 100% compared with the same period in 2023.
Kaijin New Energy
In 2021, relying on Dongguan–Tongren collaboration, the Dalong Development Zone introduced Kaijin New Energy to strengthen the park's new functional materials industry chain, creating the "Kaijin Speed"—taking only 72 days from plant construction to trial production. A 100,000-ton high-performance lithium-ion battery anode material production line was built. In 2024, the company was successfully included in the list of the Top 100 Private Enterprises in Guizhou. "Our anode materials have high capacity, excellent high-temperature performance, safety performance, and cycle performance," introduced Wang Shichun, Deputy General Manager of the company. With product advantages, the company's major customers include CATL, BYD, Panasonic (Japan), LG (Korea), SKI (Korea), Gotion High-Tech, and other well-known domestic and international battery manufacturers. "This year, with full certification from customers, our capacity release rate has stabilized at 85%–100%, achieving full production and sales. We expect to realize an annual output value of 3–3.5 billion yuan," Wang said confidently.
Kaijin production workshop
Currently, Kaijin New Energy has relocated its 100,000-ton front-end grinding and granulation process, 100,000-ton finished product production line, and more than 50,000-ton high-temperature carbonization production line to the development zone, building an integrated production base. This production model not only reduces energy consumption by 2,000–3,000 kWh per ton of product and significantly lowers logistics costs, but also shortens the production cycle by more than 15 days through process coordination, greatly enhancing the company's competitiveness in order delivery. While reducing costs and improving efficiency, the integrated production model has also created a large number of jobs. The number of employees has increased from more than 200 in 2022 to more than 900 at present, an increase of 300%. "This year, we recruited more than 50 college graduates, not only injecting fresh blood into the company, but also optimizing the talent team, supplementing professional strength, and promoting steady development," said Wang Shichun.
Workers are bagging
Since its establishment, Kaijin New Energy has continuously deepened university-enterprise cooperation with Guizhou University, Central South University, and other universities inside and outside the province. Through multiple rounds of technological transformation and research breakthroughs, the company has upgraded and transformed its original production lines, increasing production capacity by 20%–30% while reducing relative energy consumption by 20%. "The business environment in the development zone is very good," Wang recalled. "When the company first settled in, we faced recruitment difficulties. Relevant departments in the development zone took the initiative to serve us, combining street publicity with livestream recruitment to help us solve the employment problem, and also carried out position-based training to provide us with skilled workers."
In the Dalong Development Zone, there are 29 other large-scale new functional material enterprises like Kaijin New Energy that have taken root in this fertile land, forming a complete industrial chain covering three major tracks: manganese-based, sodium-based, and comprehensive recycling. From January to July this year, the industrial output value of the new functional materials industry in the development zone reached 14.492 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13%. Looking ahead, with the implementation of new projects and breakthroughs in new technologies, the industrial chain jointly built by the government and enterprises will demonstrate greater resilience, and the path of "pursuing innovation and green development" will become broader.
