Raw materials, use, storage and use precautions of carburant
What is carburant? Now we will learn about it from its raw materials, use, storage and precautions.
1. Raw materials: Carburant is the product of petroleum coke calcined at high temperature. After petroleum coke calcined at 1250 ℃, most of the water, volatile matter and other impurities are removed. The carbon content is 98.5%. From the appearance, carburant is a carbon particle with irregular shape and metallic luster, and the carbon particle pores are more transparent;
2. Purpose: From the surface meaning, carburant is a kind of additive for carburizing, mainly used in steel plants or foundries. In the metal smelting process, carburant is mainly used to increase the carbon content, so as to smelt the ideal steel;
3. Storage: The storage shall be damp proof. If carburant is damp, the moisture in carburant will change, and hydrogen and oxygen will be separated under the effect of high temperature, which will have an impact on the products produced;
4. Precautions :
(1) Carburant selection: Carburant with high carbon content and low impurities and other components shall be selected. If other contents are high, such as high ash content, it will inhibit the carbon increase effect and increase the time and labor costs; If the nitrogen content is relatively high, it will cause nitrogen porosity in the casting and affect the performance of the casting;
(2) Use method: Carburizing agent is added into the furnace when feeding, and mixed with the feeding and placed at the bottom and middle of the induction furnace. Carburant is added to the furnace together with the metal charge during charging. Due to the long action time, the carburizing efficiency is much higher than that when molten iron is added during tapping, and the carburizing efficiency is higher.
