Calcined Coke Carburant】Production Process and Market Prices Overview

Calcined Coke Carburant, a carbon-increasing agent produced by calcining petroleum coke. The process involves placing low-sulfur petroleum coke in a calcination furnace and removing impurities such as moisture, ash, and volatile components through high-temperature calcination at 1300°C. The resulting product is a hard, porous, black or dark gray solid with a metallic luster that is composed primarily of hydrocarbons and contains over 98.5% carbon. Calcined Coke Carburant has a wide range of industrial applications, including steelmaking, iron making, and general casting, as well as the production of brake discs, crankshafts, and brake pads.

Particle Size:

The specifications range from 0-1mm, 1-5mm, 0-2mm, 0-8mm, 8-30mm, 0-5mm, with customization available based on customer demand.

Production Process:

Raw material storage → crushing and conveying → filter cylinder dust collection → calcination → volatile matter burning (combustion flue gas) in tank furnace flue → cooling and discharging → filter cartridge dust collection (dedusting tail gas) → storage → calcined petroleum coke

Product Physical and Chemical Indexes:

 Applications:

The calcined petroleum coke carburant can not only make up for the carbon loss in the process of steel smelting, to meet the requirements of carbon content of specific steel grades, but also can be used for post furnace adjustment. As an important raw material for melting molten iron in an induction furnace, its quality and usage directly affect the state of the molten iron.

Price:

Mining costs, transportation costs, supply-demand balance, production, and so on are all key factors that affect prices. However, the direct factor affecting the price of calcined petroleum coke is the demand for downstream graphite electrode. The moisture, volatile content and other impurities in the calcined petroleum coke after the calcination process are less than those in uncalcined petroleum coke, with higher carbon content and significantly lower sulfur content. Therefore, the price of the calcined petroleum coke is relatively high.  Learn more of the calcined coke products market dynamics, feel free to contact us.
