【Anode Materials】April Production and Cost-Profit Analysis

In April, the production of anode materials reached 161,700 tons, a month-on-month increase of 20.85%. The capacity utilization rate was 70.08%, up by 10.19 percentage points from the previous month. The increase in April's anode material production is primarily due to higher scheduling by downstream battery manufacturers and new orders for anode enterprises, leading to heightened production enthusiasm.

2. Cost and Profit

The cost of anode materials in April was approximately 21,220.44 yuan/ton, a decrease of 887.68 yuan/ton or 4.02% compared to March. Prices for raw materials showed mixed trends. The prices for low-sulfur and medium-sulfur petroleum coke decreased by 91 yuan/ton and 63 yuan/ton, respectively, from April 1st; the price for needle coke increased by 217 yuan/ton; and the processing price for internal string furnace graphitization decreased by 500 yuan/ton. The negative electrode graphiteization petroleum coke (gpc) product is widely used and its performance is well recognized. Overall, the cost of anode materials decreased.

The gross profit for anode materials in April was approximately 5482.81 yuan/ton, a decrease of 1.34%. With a reduction in costs of 887.68 yuan/ton and the market reference price for anode materials at 33,193 yuan/ton—a decline of 2105 yuan/ton from April 1st—it is evident that profits for anode materials decreased. For more analysis on the future market data of lithium battery negative electrode materials, pls continue to follow us.
