1. Needle Coke Market This Week

During the week of May 13-17, China's needle coke market prices remained stable with active trading. Major companies are fulfilling existing orders. Current prices are as follows: raw coke at 5200-5500 RMB/ton and calcined coke at 6500-7800 RMB/ton. Coal tar pitch prices fell this week. The anode materials market saw a rebound in demand, leading to increased supply from some companies, which boosted demand for needle coke. However, the graphite electrode market remains weak, resulting in lower demand for needle coke. Prices are expected to remain stable next week.

2.  Anode Materials Market This Week

During the same week, China's anode materials market prices remained steady. Prices for natural graphite ranged from 33,000 to 37,000 RMB/ton, and artificial graphite from 24,000 to 39,000 RMB/ton. Demand from battery manufacturers is gradually increasing, with leading companies operating at high capacity and high-cost inventories mostly depleted. Prices of raw petroleum coke showed minor adjustments, and trading for needle coke was robust.
