【Graphitized Carburant】Production Process and Market Price Overview
Graphitized carburant refers to the carburant that has undergone graphitization, which means the molecular structure of carbon products changes through high temperature or other methods, arranging in an orderly manner. This arrangement of molecules results in a wider spacing between carbon molecules, making it more conducive to nucleation and decomposition in molten iron or steel. Carburant can be used as cast iron carburant, and common materials include artificial graphite, calcined petroleum coke, natural graphite, coke, anthracite, and mixtures of these materials. Graphitized carburant are mainly used in electric furnace smelting to obtain better molten iron through carburizing with low or even zero pig iron usage.
Particle size:
The specifications range from 0-5mm, 1-5mm to 0-10mm, etc. , and can be customized based on customer requirements.
Production Process:
Graphitized carburant is the product of petroleum coke after high-temperature graphitization treatment. Graphitized petroleum coke is petroleum coke placed in a graphitization furnace, usually using an Acheson furnace equipment. The conductive electrodes at the furnace head and tail are paved with carbon material roasting products as the conductive heating core, that is, a carbon material roasting product is laid between each pair of corresponding conductive electrodes at the furnace head and tail as a layer of conductive heating core. After high-temperature treatment at about 3000℃, the disordered lamellar structure carbon crystals of petroleum coke transform into hexagonal lamellar structure carbon, that is, petroleum coke becomes graphite, and this process is called graphitization. Petroleum coke processed in the graphitization process is called graphitized petroleum coke.

Applications:
1. It is a good carburant for smelting.
2. After deep processing, graphitized carburant can be used as lithium-ion battery negative materials, military industry pyrotechnic material stabilizers, etc.
3. It can also be applied to fields such as chemical industry reducers, casting reduction agents, refractory materials, etc.
Price:
Due to the different raw material costs of graphitized carburant and different market supply and demand, these two factors are the main factors causing price fluctuations of graphitized carburant.
Difference between graphitized carburant and other carburant:
Graphitized carburant is produced at a temperature of about 3000℃ in a graphitization smelting furnace, and the fixed carbon content of graphitized carburant is generally around 98%, with the highest reaching 99%. The sulfur content of graphitized carburant is generally between 0.03-0.06%, and the absorption rate is usually between 90%-95%. The smelting environment of graphitized carburant is also longer than that of other carburant. Graphitization can reduce the impurity content in carburant, increase the carbon content of carburant, and reduce sulfur content. Although the price of graphitized carburant is relatively higher than other carburant, considering the overall usage cost, the selection of graphitized carburant is more economical.
