1. Graphite Electrodes

According to customs data, China exported 35,700 tons of graphite electrodes in March 2025, an increase of 83.79% month-on-month and 17.53% year-on-year. From January to March 2025, China's total graphite electrode exports reached 85,600 tons, down 1.95% year-on-year.

The main export destinations for Chinese graphite electrodes in March 2025 were the UAE, Iran, and South Korea.

2. Needle Coke

Petroleum-based Needle Coke

According to customs data, China imported 3,100 tons of petroleum-based needle coke in March 2025, down 10.26% year-on-year but up 234% month-on-month. From January to March 2025, total imports were 5,800 tons, down 80.2% year-on-year.

In March 2025, China's primary import source for petroleum-based needle coke was the UK, with an import volume of 2,900 tons.

China exported approximately 600 tons of petroleum-based needle coke in March 2025.

Coal-based Needle Coke

According to customs data, China imported 9,700 tons of coal-based needle coke in March 2025, up 10.73% month-on-month and down 25.9% year-on-year.

From January to March 2025, China's total coal-based needle coke imports reached 24,900 tons, down 11% year-on-year.

The main countries exporting coal-based needle coke to China in March 2025 were Japan (6,200 tons) and South Korea (3,500 tons).
